Charging and Battery Status

Updated on Sep 30, 2025

The Pokémon GO Plus +™ (with Ultra Mod: MAX) uses an internal rechargeable battery. The Side Button LED indicates the charge level when pressed and displays charging progress when the device is plugged in.

  • Charging from a completely empty state may take up to 15 minutes before the device can be used.

  • Only use a standard USB-C charging cable connected to a 5V power supply.

Press the Side Button to check the charge level:

  • 🟢 Solid Green — Good

  • 🟡 Solid Yellow — Moderate

  • 🟡 Blinking Yellow — Low

  • 🔴 Blinking Red — Critical

  • No Light — No charge

  • 🟢 Solid Green — Good (nearing full)

  • 🟡 Solid Yellow — Moderate to low

  • 🔴 Blinking Red — Critical (wait until yellow before use)

  • No Light — No input (see Troubleshooting below)

Notes

  • Charging from a completely empty state may take up to 15 minutes before the LED changes from blinking red to a steady yellow.

  • Full charge takes up to 3 hours.

    • (Specs for the nerds: Nominal battery capacity = 525 mAh; Max input = 5V / 0.25A)

  • The device may continue charging for some time after the LED turns green.

  • The Pokémon GO Plus +™ uses the same battery as a Nintendo® Joy-Con™.

Troubleshooting

Status light does not turn on when charging:

  • Verify your USB-C cable is in good condition and plugged into a working 5V power supply.

  • Check for debris in the charging port or at either end of the cable.

  • If the cable and power supply are functional but the LED does not illuminate:

    • The firmware may be frozen. Perform a Quick Reset (see Reset Your Device).

    • If a Quick Reset does not help, there may be an internal fault. See the Advanced Troubleshooting guide or contact GadCAD 3D for support.

Device charges for 20+ minutes but still flashes red:

  • This can indicate a disconnected battery terminal, battery fault, or board-level issue preventing charging.

  • See the Advanced Troubleshooting guide or contact GadCAD 3D for support.

⚠️ Warning: Charging faults caused by water damage are NOT covered under GadCAD 3D's Limited Warranty and usually signal the end-of-life for a device.
