This guide will help you securely pack your device and ship it in for modifications. Please make sure to review all details carefully to ensure your device is received safely and without delay!

Need to place an order?

Shop Mail-in Services

Package your device.

Pack your device in a small box with plenty of padding material, such as bubble wrap or crumpled paper. Please include your order number or a printed receipt with the device.

  • Do NOT include accessories (straps, cases, etc.).
  • Avoid only using a bubble mailer to ship your device.

Label the contents.

Per IATA regulations, ALL shipping services require you attach a UN3481 label to your package since it contains a lithium-ion battery.

DO NOT FORGET THIS!

Failing to properly disclose/label hazardous material can result in shipping delays, refusal, confiscation, or fines! Please check with your selected courier for any additional requirements.

Shipping Services

UPS Ground (Best Value)

I personally recommend UPS for their local reliability and multiple daily trips to our postal locker. UPS Ground also offers the best balance of speed and price.

UPS 2nd/Next Day Air (Fastest)

UPS 2nd-Day Air can be a great expedited option for areas distant from Texas.

  • Use a UN3481 DOT label.

However, if time is more important than price, consider UPS Next-Day Air.

Be sure to compare the ETA's for each service and confirm that we can actually collect your device then before more than you need to!

UPS SurePost (aka "Ground Saver")

If you want to save a few bucks, UPS SurePost is a hybrid service that uses the UPS Ground network before handing the package off to the local post office for final delivery. This tends to take 1-2 days longer than UPS Ground, but could be more. To avoid potential issues with USPS, I recommend purchasing additional insurance for this service for the added peace of mind (+$0.80).

FedEx Services

We are happy to accept FedEx deliveries at our postal locker. However, their services are not available through PirateShip, and I have not used them enough to offer recommendations. You are welcome to use them if you prefer!

USPS Ground Advantage (Last Resort)

(I strongly recommend AVOIDING USPS. Packages are often delayed/lost.)

If UPS is unavailable in your area or your want the cheapest rate possible, choose USPS Ground Advantage. This is the most basic parcel service the Post Office offers, and the ONLY service that USPS allows for shipping lithium ion batteries.

Note: Do NOT use USPS Priority or Express services to mail your device with a UN3481 label! This is prohibited and will likely get stuck in a processing center for weeks and returning to sender.

Mail-In FAQs

How long will the ULTRA MOD service take?

Mail-ins are typically serviced and dispatched within 1-3 business days of receipt, but please allow up to one week in case of unforeseen delays. You will be notified in advance of any unforeseen delays.

Most customers received their device(s) back within 10-14 days after they were shipped, accounting for service time and shipping both ways. However, this is just an average and can vary based on location and other incidental factors.

How will my device ship back once it's modified?

We use UPS SurePost for eligible U.S. residential addresses (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, and military addresses) and USPS Ground Advantage elsewhere.

Need it sooner? We offer expedited UPS Return services within the 48 contiguous states! Please get in touch with us for rates in other areas.

How do I use the new ULTRA MOD features on my device?

We include a QR link to our very own Quick Start Guide with every ULTRA MOD unit, which you can preview now on our website!

Can you keep my device's speaker and vibration motor working?

No, our ULTRA MOD service requires removing both the speaker and vibration motor.

Exceptions to this rule tend to result in undesirable side-effects and a user experience we aren't satisfied with providing.

Should I unpair/reset my device before shipping?

No, this is not required. We occasionally test modified devices for quality assurance purposes by pairing them with a local device. In this case, we Factory Reset the device before and after testing, meaning would need to re-pair it once received.

Will I lose my "Nightcap Snorlax" Special Research by unpairing or modifying the device?

No. The "Catching some Z's" Special Research you unlock from initially pairing a GO Plus+ with your game is permanent, and the ULTRA MOD will not negatively affect your progress in any way. You can continue tracking your sleep each day and progressing through the objectives after the modification.

Note: You can only unlock/complete this research one time per account.

My device has preexisting damage. Do you offer additional diagnostic/repair services?

Please contact us with details before sending your device.

We CANNOT repair water-damaged devices (no judgment - it happens.) In limited cases, we can diagnose and (attempt to) repair specific problems for an additional fee. Otherwise, it may make more financial sense to purchase a new device.

If you choose to purchase a new ULTRA MOD device from GadCAD 3D, we may offer a small trade-in credit for your broken device!

Can you redesign my device to look like something else?

Sorry! Unfortunately, we do not offer cosmetic customizations at this time.

The fine print.

Scope of Service

What Does the ULTRA MOD Service Involve?

Unless stated otherwise, GadCAD 3D will make the following changes to your qualifying device:

  • Remove the motor that makes the device vibrate.
  • Remove the speaker that makes sounds.
  • Install a switch (aka "ULTRA MOD Switch") using a 3D-printed mount to enable your device to perform certain manual actions (e.g., pressing the Main Button) automatically.
  • (Optional) Reduce the brightness of the LEDs

How will the ULTRA MOD alter base device functionality?

Following the ULTRA MOD Mail-in Service, your device will:

  • Allow you to automatically throw "Great Balls" and "Ultra Balls" in Pokémon GO when the ULTRA MOD Switch is in the “AUTO” position and all other in-game conditions are met.
  • Allow other standard functions, such as sleep tracking or manual throws, when the ULTRA MOD Switch is in the “MANUAL” position.
  • No longer vibrate or make sounds through the internal speaker.

Limited Warranty (30 Days)

We at GadCAD 3D stand by our work, including all ULTRA MOD devices purchased through our sales channels. If anything does not work as advertised within 30 days of receipt, we'll make it right.

This warranty covers necessary exchanges/repairs caused by production defects. It does NOT cover any form of user damage, misuse, elective returns, or circumstances beyond GadCAD 3D's control, such as game updates that may affect the functionality of the device. To qualify for an exchange, the device must be returned in its original condition and not show signs of improper use or physical/water damage. Defective units must be received by GadCAD 3D before a replacement is sent unless stated otherwise. Returns will only be accepted in the context of prorated exchanges, where a separate unit is purchased to replace a defective one, which will be refunded upon receipt and inspection. Returns of devices showing reasonable signs of improper use, physical damage, or unauthorized tampering will not be honored under this warranty. GadCAD 3D is solely responsible for determining whether these defects are due to these factors or craftsmanship. Additionally, if an issue is found to result from damage or misuse, the customer may be responsible for return shipping postage or other applicable fees. 

Terms and Conditions

Parties and Effective Date

This Service Agreement (“Agreement”) is between GadCAD 3D (“Service Provider”) and the individual or entity agreeing to these terms (“Customer”). This Agreement is effective upon the date of payment to the Service Provider.

Shipping

Included Costs: The cost of the service consists of shipping and returning the device from the Service Provider.
Customer Responsibilities: The customer is responsible for securely packaging their device and sourcing their shipping label to the service provider once the address is provided. Package material for shipping to the Service Provider may not be returned to the customer. Please do NOT include any extra accessories, only the Go Plus+ device.
Alternate or Expedited Shipping: The customer may request alternate courier services or expedited shipping for an additional fee.

Payments

The customer must pay in full for all services outlined before shipping their device. Shipments received without prior authorization will be refused and returned at the customer's expense.

Fulfilment Time

Service will be completed promptly and returned in as little as one business day, but may vary due to several factors. Customers will be updated on any significant delays and provided an ETA if the service cannot be completed within ten business days of receipt by the Service Provider.

Serialization

The Service Provider reserves the right to serialize the interior of the devices it services and associate the serial number(s) with order numbers for tracking and warranty purposes.
Warranty Implications: Removing or altering the assigned serial tag will void the warranty if installed. Warranty claims received that do not match the serial number tied to the qualifying device will be refused and returned to the customer at their expense.

Cancellation Policy

Right to Request Cancellation: Customers can request a service cancellation after their device has been sent in but before the modification service has commenced. Cancellations will be granted at the Service Provider's sole discretion. Modifications already underway or completed at the time of the cancellation request are not eligible for cancellation or refund.

Refund Eligibility: If eligible for cancellation, the customer will receive a refund, minus the cost of shipping both ways and an additional $5 cancellation fee.

Refusal of Service

The Service Provider reserves the right to discontinue service at any time, in which case the device will be returned to the buyer in a condition as close to its received state as possible. Liability for return shipping will be determined at the sole discretion of the Service Provider.

Disclaimers

We strongly advise thoroughly reading the original manufacturer's operation manual for complete safety warnings and device operation details before use. GadCAD 3D is an independent operation based in Texas and is NOT affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorized by The Pokémon Company (comprised of Nintendo, Inc., GAME FREAK, Inc., and Creatures, Inc.) Niantic, Inc., nor any of their subsidiaries or affiliates. All product names, logos, and brands mentioned are the property of their respective owners and are used solely for identification purposes.

GadCAD 3D's Unofficial ULTRA MOD for the Pokémon GO Plus+ (henceforth "this service") is designed to automate pre-existing functions of the retail Pokémon GO Plus+ device, such as pressing the button to auto-throw Great or Ultra Balls, which typically require manual operation. This change results from independent innovation and is neither approved nor endorsed by the original manufacturers nor the game's publishers. Utilization of this service is at the user's own discretion and risk. Customers who purchase and/or any individuals who use this service accept that GadCAD 3D shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages or losses that may occur, nor for any actions that may be taken against the user's gaming account in parallel with its use.

GadCAD 3D shall not be held liable for any compatibility issues that may arise post-purchase. GadCAD 3D does not provide software updates or guarantee ongoing compatibility of the modified devices with mobile phones, operating systems, or the Pokémon GO application. The user is responsible for verifying the compatibility of the Pokémon GO Plus+ with their mobile devices, operating systems, and app versions by referring to the original manufacturer’s specifications and requirements before purchase.
